About Reclaiming You Therapy
Reclaiming You Therapy is a private, independent provider of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) led by me, a therapist committed to helping you improve self-awareness, develop new skills, and live a fulfilling life.
Through CBT, you'll learn how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected. This empowers you to break free from negative patterns and create a more fulfilling life.

Your Journey with Reclaiming You Therapy

Information gathering:
Referral: You can find me through the website, phone call, external referral, or insurance.
Free Consultation: I offer a free 15-minute consultation to assess your needs and determine if CBT is the right fit.

Assessment:
Assessment Pack: You will receive an email with an assessment pack to complete, outlining your issue, any potential risks, past experiences, and previous treatment (if any).
Initial Assessment: This 90-minute session allows me to get to know you better, understand your issue in detail, and explore risk management strategies. If a more suitable treatment or team would benefit you, I will refer you openly and honestly.

Treatment:
-
All therapy follows National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
-
Beyond our sessions, your active participation is key to therapy's success. This includes monitoring your patterns, reviewing and practising new skills. Remember, the more you invest, the more you'll benefit.
-
With your consent, I may share information with your GP to ensure continuity of care. However, your confidentiality is always respected.
-
In exceptional cases, if the information you share suggests significant risk of harm to yourself or others, I have a legal duty to break confidentiality and share it with the relevant authorities (e.g., suicidal thoughts).
-
Treatment sessions are typically 60 minutes weekly, but we can discuss flexibility if needed.
-
Treatment duration varies depending on your progress, problem duration, life events, and engagement. Typically, therapy lasts 8-12 sessions, but can extended if beneficial.

Review and Discharge planning:
-
Discharge planning will be integrated into your treatment to ensure you feel prepared and supported for the transition.
-
This includes review of goals, process and outcomes.
-
Consider future planning, setting new goals, and identifying areas for further development.
-
This is a crucial part of therapy and supports the discharge transition.

Your Commitment
To maximise your benefit, regular attendance is crucial. Please be aware of existing commitments (holidays, weddings) that may interfere with sessions and inform me as soon as possible. Cancellation fees may apply -see cancellation policy on the website.

Remote Therapy
Therapy can be delivered online for convenience and reduced travel stress. However, some considerations are important:
-
Be aware of potential technical issues (e.g., internet outages). I will strive to fix them or find alternative solutions.
-
Choose a private, distraction-free space for your session.
-
Therapy aims to develop your awareness of thoughts, feelings, and physical symptoms. Environments like parks, cars, or family /children present are not confidential or distraction free.

Missed/Cancelled Appointments
Missed/cancelled appointments delay your progress and impact others waiting for treatment. Please inform me as soon as possible if your circumstances change. Refer to the cancellation policy on the website for further details.

Confidentiality
All contact with the service is confidential, similar to your GP or NHS service. Therapy sessions are documented and kept confidential, following UK legislation. Exceptions include:
-
You give permission to share information.
-
A court of law compels disclosure.
-
There is a real risk of harm to you or others.
-
Cases of fraud or crime.
Following treatment completion, a summary of your contact with the service may be sent to your GP and referrer, with your consent. You will receive a copy of this report. Refer to the website privacy policy for more details.

Data Protection
Your details are stored securely on the Clinix patient electronic system. This includes session content, risks, observations, assessments, and psychological measures. This data may be used for statistical or treatment review purposes. All databases and recording systems comply with UK legislation, ICO and GDPR. For further information on data collection and storage, please refer to the privacy policy, found on the website or provided via email following your initial assessment.
